CRAZY JOE ESPOSITO
Date: 14th October, 2010
I attend and compete in this event and I share my experience to you, faithful readers of Pinball News.
Even though a few ToPS tournaments were running, and a few pinball machines were for sale, this review will mainly cover the pinball tournament.
Lloyd arrange for the pre-event pizza to arrived at 7:00pm; from Pizza LUCÉ. Once again, Diane was kind enough to bring in cookies.
The pinball tournament started at about 8pm. Because there were only six competitors, Dave asked the group if the tournament could be run as double elimination. The crown unanimously agreed. Luck-of-the-draw was used for both competing players and their games.
Once again, Joe Esposito could not attend his namesake pinball tournament. So, Dave offered to be the designated Esposito.
Everyone seemed eager to start the tournament. So Dave stared organizing the event as soon as dinner was over.
But not everyone came to compete. Some attended just for food and fun!
Because the tournament was player-run, Lloyd was able to take the rare opportunity to visit and joke along with the players.
Play was always fun, but not everyone competed.
A few of the competitors had epic rounds, so play continued until about 11:15pm.
The final round came down to: Dave (on the left), and Phil (on the right). Dave won first place and the majority of the collected entry fees while Phil won second place, recouping his entry fee.
Dates for Lloyd’s next big pinball event are in the Diary section, so start making your plans to visit him now.
