PINBALL EXPO 2007

Date: 24th - 28th October 2007
Location: Wyndham O'Hare, 6810N. Mannheim Road, Rosemont, Chicago, USA. 60018

Sunday is the day when the show winds down and the vendors pack up early. By lunchtime many of the machines in the two halls were either depowered or removed.

But for the competitive players, Sunday is the day of the finals of the Flip Out Tournament.

There were three main divisions - A, B and C - plus a Women's division, Juniors and Seniors divisions and one for the Tots.

We'll have full details shortly but here are the highlights just minutes after the awards ceremony was completed.

The main A Division was a close finish but on the very last ball of the last game on Pirates Of The Caribbean, it was Andy Rosa who took first place beating Rick Steta into second with Keith Elwin in third and Trent Augenstein in fourth.

In the B division it was Greg Davis who was triumphant in first place after winning all three games on Pirates Of The Caribbean, Meteor and Spider-Man. Greg had virtually won after the second of the three games with a total of 14 points while the nearest challenger was Phillip Mazur on 8 points. As long as Greg didn't come last and Phillip first, he was assured the win and indeed Greg won the last game too to seal the first place. Phillip Mazur was second while Todd McCullough was third and fourth place went to Ron Hallett.

In the C division it went to the final game as Kyle's two wins and 14 points could still be caught by Fabian's 10 points if he could win and Kyle was third or fourth. In the end though, it was Adam who won and Kyle was second, securing his lead and taking first place.

At the other end of the age range, the Juniors division was also a three way match between Chandler Hall, Joshua Henderson and Sarah Schudel. The first two games on Spider-Man and Family Guy both went to Chandler and although Joshua managed to pull back a win on Pirates Of The Caribbean it wasn't enough to win or overtake Sarah's three second places.

Apart from winning the playfield above, Chandler also won $120. Sarah's second place netted her $90 while Joshua took home a $50 prize for third.
