SS BILLIARDS 36th ANNIVERSARY PARTY

Date: Saturday 20th September, 2008.
Location: SS Billiards, 732 11th Avenue South, Hopkins, Minnesota, USA. 55343.


On October 2nd 2002, SS Billiards in Hopkins, MN, USA had its 30th anniversary party, Bolshoi Goose. On September 20th 2008, there was yet another great party, a free customer appreciation party. The party lasted from about 7pm until almost 8:30pm.

The HOST

As is always true, Lloyd was solely responsible for: funding, hosting, organizing and setting up the pinball party.
 

THE SET-UP

Lloyd's arcade was left as normal.

Lloyd's regular pinball lineup included: Addams Family Gold, Attack from Mars, Batman (Stern), Corvette, Demolition Man, Dracula (WMS), Eight Ball Deluxe LE, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean (Stern), Spider-Man (Stern) – (See related article.),  Medieval Madness, NASCAR, Wheel of Fortune (Stern), and Twilight Zone.

Lloyd's also had two games which were for sale: Comet and Excalibur.

An additional pinball machine was used for the tournament, an original Capcom, Big Bang Bar.


There was only one game failure to report. A flipper link broke on Big Bang Bar.

THE FOOD

THE TICKET

Because this was a free party, there were no tickets.
 

DOOR PRIZES

There were no door prizes this year.


PINBALL TOURNAMENT

Joe Esposito was gracious enough to host his FnA pinball tournament. Unlike last year, there were no one-day ToPS tournaments.

SINGLE ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT

The single elimination pinball tournament was best-two-of-three. The competition started at about a quarter to 7pm and ended at about 8:30pm. Each set of players and their games were chosen at random. After two rounds, for each tie, the tiebreaker was played on Big Bang Bar.
