ROCK 'N BROCK |
Date: April 26th - 27th 2008 Report by Pascal Descloux. This weekend, the 17th Rock ’N Broc Vierzon show took place.
Rock’N Broc is a fantasy name meaning everything about the '50s and '60s. So it’s not only a pinball show, but also a show for vintage and collectible items from these glorious years.
The show took place at the Pavillon des Expositions under its 3500m2 roof. Entrance was €3.5 ($5.43, £2.75), and the theme this year was the Bally and Stern 7 digits generation.
Organizers have succeeded in exhibiting almost all the models from this generation and it was amazing to see all these machines, in such good condition.
Here is the list of the machines set up for the theme:
The Vierzon show is run in a very professional way: once you enter the place, you find the pinball line, and then each vendor has its own little booth where pinballs and parts are on sale.
Vierzon is the biggest pinball show in France and it’s a great occasion for collectors to gather around a hold a nice meeting. But it is also a good occasion to find special parts and even some very old games to restore.
The building is big enough to accommodate a music stage and a restaurant. Music combined with the pinballs' sounds to make a very noisy room, but playing to the pulp fiction music is quite exciting!
Other automatic games were also present such as jukeboxes, old and new slot machines, pachislos, old coin-operated games and decorative items as gas pumps, furniture, etc…
Vierzon is also a national rendez-vous for old cars and motorcycles which are exhibited on the parking lot and make a city tour during the weekend.
According to the organizers around 12,000 visitors came for the weekend, which confirms its popularity.
