| Location: 8 Shum Wan Road, Aberdeen, Hong Kong. Our latest report from John, our roving reporter, takes him back to Hong Kong to a private community in Aberdeen where they boast six restaurants and many other leisure facilities. It's in one of these that John finds his latest pinball sighting. Apart from American Pool, I found another location in Hong Kong with pinball machines. It is called the Aberdeen Marina Club (AMC).
AMC is a private club facility and is only open to its members and their guests. This summer, I visited the Club with one of its members.
There were two Shrek pinball machines at the bowling centre of AMC. I wonder why they acquired two pinballs with the same title?
The playfields of the two Shrek pinballs were a little bit dirty, and it seemed they had not called the pinball operator for any regular maintenance work.
Fortunately, the flippers were still powerful enough. The replay scores were very low, so it only cost me a few tens of Hong Kong dollars (HK$10 = US$1.30) to play pinball for the whole afternoon.
There were many facilities inside AMC, including a bar, a bowling alley, a gym, ice-skating, a swimming pool, a game centre, snooker and restaurants.
As I know, the membership of AMC is very limited and not easy to get, even if you can afford the joining fee of more than US$250,000.
