Great Valley Lanes- Pittsburgh's Pin Pasture

Great Valley Lanes in North Versailles, PA is only about 15 minutes east of Pittsburgh right off Lincoln Hwy route 30.

I'm originally from Akron, Ohio where Pinball has just recently begun to see a new interest. When visiting family one Thanksgiving, I found this bowling alley on Steel City Pinball listing 9 pins so I had to break away from the family to see if it was for real. To my surprise, this little gold mine was open on the holiday and all the machines were up and running.

In 2003, I relocated to Pittsburgh so I now frequent Great Valley quite often. I travel for my business and I'll often spend a lunch hour here with 10 pins to choose from. They rotate the selection every few weeks. There is a mailman I usually share the machines with and his pinball talent far exceeds mine. He sometimes leaves me about 3 credits on Addams Family. The guys here are local pros probably training for PAPA!

Today I went down to take some pictures for this article and I found a new batch awaiting me.

I've played all these games before except for Dirty Harry. Actually, I've played the Visual Pin version of Dirty Harry but that's a totally different thing! I tried this game today and what a fast action pin. I'm really rusty and I nearly got the 1.9 mil daily high for a replay. Better luck next time.
