K's PIT RESTUARANT |
Location: 愛知県半田市白山町5丁目214-18 (Hakusan, Handa) Having brought us reports from Nagoya later in the year, John - our roving reporter - looks back to the last location he visited in an earlier visit to the city of Nagoya in Japan. In April 2012, my wife and I visited the city of Nagoya in Japan during the Easter holidays.
The final pinball location we visited was K's Pit restaurant.
This is a 1950s American diner-style restaurant, which is located in a residential area of Hakusan Town (白山町) in the city of Handa (半田市). When we arrived at the Narawa station (成岩駅), it was around 5:30pm and it was becoming dark. However, we still needed a 15-minute walk along a road before we arrived at the restaurant. You can imagine how scary it was on the way to the restaurant.
There was a Jack•Bot pinball inside the restaurant. The working condition of the pinball was very good, but unfortunately, the dot matrix display was only about 30% visible. So, I had no idea about my scores, and all I could do was to try my best to play the machine.
The bar was a very relaxing place for drinks and meals. We ordered a jar of beer, noodles and fried rice.
Surprisingly, my wife did not push me to go this time because she also enjoyed staying there.
We finally left the restaurant at 8pm. The next day we took an early flight back to Hong Kong as a full stop to our journey.
The only changes since my last visit to K’s Pit restaurant in April 2012 are: Business hours have been changed to midday to midnight (closed on Tuesday).
The current game is Star Wars (Data East, 1992). The central ramp did not always work and obviously it was lacking regular maintenance. Anyway, it was still payable.
Things which have remained unchanged include:
K’s Pit is my recommended pinball location near Nagoya city.
