OASIS TIKI BAR

Location: Metropolitan Express hotel, 6323 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819, USA
Date: September 2013

Report by John

In September 2013, my wife and I had our first trip to the east coast of the USA (New York City and Orlando), and to Canada (Vancouver).

The Oasis Tiki bar is located at the pool side of the Metropolitan Express hotel. I arrived there in the early evening of a rainy day.

The decoration of the bar is good, and it is very relaxing to have a beer at the pool side.

It had two pinballs - Ripley's Believe It or Not! (Stern, 2004) and Avatar (Stern, 2010).

It was the first time I had seen a real 'Believe it or Not!' machine.  It was not difficult for me to earn replays on this game.

In addition, it was also my first time seeing a DMD glare guard.  It is effective in shielding light reflections from the dot-matrix display; www.planetarypinball.com

The bar itself is good and elegant. However, the hotel itself had deteriorated.  So, I recommend you to visit the Oasis Tiki Bar but don't stay at this hotel.  One can reach the hotel easily by taking I-Ride along International Drive.

I stayed at the bar for around two hours and then came back to my hotel (the Holiday Inn Express, International Drive) on foot.
