THE SAD CAFE |
Location: 1-9-12 Jingumae , Shibuya, Tokyo 150-0001 (1-9-12東京都渋谷区神宮前) In the next report in his continuing series from Japan, John - our roving reporter - is back in Tokyo and paying a visit to the strangely-named Sad Cafe with an equally strange pinball. In early 2012, I visited Tokyo on my leisure trip and this was my fourth pinball location - The Sad Cafe bar at Harajuku(原宿) which is an American bar and restaurant.
There was only one pinball there but the most interesting thing was that it was placed on a trolley outside the bar.
Before I started paying the pinball, I was quite worried about its condition. Luckily, the condition of this pinball was quite acceptable, plus it was not difficult to get replays! When I had played it for around 30 minutes, the pinball suddenly shut down.
I had no choice but to go back to the bar to have my meal and beer with my wife. After another 30 minutes, the lady boss informed me that the pinball had fully recovered. It was a very good news for a pinball visitor like me.
The meals, especially the "Country Chicken Rice", were not expensive but very delicious. \(^o^)/.
The lady boss was very nice, with good a competence in English. It was surprisingly good for me, since I could not speak Japanese.
Finally, we left the bar around 9pm, in a good mood.
I strongly recommend this bar to every one if you want to have drinks and a delicious meal in the district of Harajuku in Tokyo. Here are some additional details:
