Report by John Recently, I was informed by an internet blogger that there would be a vintage EM pinball in a cafe in Stanley (赤柱) on Hong Kong island. In fact it was really great news for me, since EM pinball is a dinosaur in Hong Kong. At noon today I departed for Stanley with my wife.
The EM pinball - a Capt. Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy (Bally, 1975) - was located in the Saffron Bakery Cafe on the ground floor of Stanley Plaza.
It is absolutely amazing that this pinball was still functional almost forty years after release. It is also unbelievable that there is still such a pinball in HK. \(^o^)/ The two flippers were powerful and most of the parts on playfield were in working condition, except that the right outlane diverter gate did not work.
It was HK$20 for two games, which was quite costly. However, don't worry about it, because it was a 5-ball game and it was easy to get replays. As a result, I could use only one HK$20 token to play it for more than two hours. In addition, I managed to win five credits once in a single game!
After playing pinball, we had a walk along the seaside. Stanley is a beautiful place for both overseas and local visitors.
We ate a late lunch at an American-style restaurant, and our fun day ended at 4:30pm.
