TAITO INN |
Report by John During the Chinese New Year holidays in February 2013, I visited Tokyo with my wife on our leisure trip. On day three, our second pinball location was the Taito Inn (タイトーイン) at Kanda (神田).
Taito Inn was a small amusement centre with three pinballs - Jurassic Park (Data East, 1993), Lethal Weapon 3 (Data East, 1992) and The Addams Family (Bally, 1992).
Jurassic Park was in excellent working condition. However, I did not know the game's rules exactly, and personally don't like the game very much.
The flippers and playfield of Lethal Weapon 3 were in good working condition, however the dot matrix display was only partially functional and it adversely affected my performance when I was playing the video modes.
I was a little bit disappointed with The Addams Family, since the left middle flipper was totally non-functional. I first visited this Taito Inn at Kanda in early 2012, and this fault has been evident since then.
Apart from pinballs, there were darts machines and video games. I was quite surprised that Taito Inn was quite so full of guests during business hours on a weekday.
Personally, I did not like playing pinball at the Taio Inn because many people were smoking close the pinball area. So, I only stayed there for one hour before continuing to our third pinball location - Mikado in Takadanobaba (高田馬場). The Lethal Weapon 3 pinball was replaced by an Indiana Jones (Williams, 1993).
The current picture is:
Both Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones were in good condition. I was a little bit disappointed with the The Addams Family, since the middle-left flipper was not very powerful and so it was easy to kick the ball into the right outlane. I stayed there for less than one hour, since from time to time some Japanese people came into the shop and smoked near the pinball area. (/_\). Here is some additional information about Taito Inn:
