THE WIZARD OF OZ:
LIGHT SHOW

Date: 18th August, 2012

One of the many innovative features of The Wizard of Oz is the use of red/green/blue (RGB) LEDs throughout, to provide an incredible amount of control over the colour and mood of the playfield lighting.

The latest update from Jersey Jack Pinball shows how this capability has been put to use within the game.

JJP have released a video showing how the LEDs can provide a multitude of colours across the playfield.

While this is clearly a demonstration of the system's capabilities, it would be interesting to see how bright the playfield looks like when the LEDs are white, or pale yellow.

One interesting effect shown in the video is the simulation of the way lamps have a slight fade when turning on an off. The animation of the Scarecrow letters shows this recreation working very effectively.

We also get a brief glimpse of how the Wicked Witch may look behind her clear plastic shield when fully illuminated.
